Having been redeemed by the precious blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:18–19), and
saved by grace through faith, and not of works (Ephesians 2:8–9), we do covenant
together before God to walk in obedience to His Word, according to the Holy
Scriptures.
We confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for our sins, was buried,
and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
We believe that there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby
we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and that we are justified freely by His grace through
the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24).
Being reconciled unto God, we purpose to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mark
12:31), to walk in charity, for charity is the bond of perfectness (Colossians 3:14).
We covenant to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), to forgive as Christ
hath forgiven us (Colossians 3:13), and to let our light so shine before men, that
they may glorify our Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
We further covenant to live holy as unto the Lord, presenting our bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service (Romans
12:1). We commit to be not conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the
renewing of our mind (Romans 12:2), following peace with all men, and holiness,
without which no man shall see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).
We purpose to walk worthy of the vocation wherewith we are called (Ephesians
4:1), denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, and living soberly, righteously, and
godly in this present world (Titus 2:12). We seek to be led by the Spirit of God
(Romans 8:14), bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit unto righteousness (Galatians
5:22–23).
In all things, we covenant to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9–11), to
edify the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12), and to continue stedfastly in the
apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts
2:42), until the glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ (Titus
2:13)
